Double Blanks In a Sentence

In many competitive examinations, the question paper of English has five or ten questions with two blank spaces. Candidates are required to fill up these blank spaces out of the four or five given choices. On filling up these blank spaces the sentence takes a meaningful shape. The knowledge of appropriate use of words and good command over vocabulary will help the candidates in solving such type of questions.

Directions: Each sentence in the questions given below has two blanks, each blank indicates that something has been omitted. Beneath the sentence are five words or sets of words. Choose the word or set of words for each blank that best fits into the meaning of the sentence as a whole.
